Introductory workshop to the concert for music groups and interested parties

Mystery surrounding a symphonic masterpiece of the Romantic period
Franz Schubert's ‘Unfinished’ forms the framework for this special concert evening on 28 May 2025 at 20:00 with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and conductor Raphaël Pichon: Schubert's 7th Symphony, which only has two movements, is one of the most popular works of the 19th century and continues to delight audiences to this day. However, why Schubert put the only half-finished symphony in a drawer and never resumed work on it is still a mystery today. The concert programme also includes three of the more than 600 songs composed by Schubert, which will be interpreted by the French baritone Stéphane Degout, as well as Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's musical travelogue, his 3rd Symphony with the nickname ‘Scottish’.
 
With its ‘Impuls Plus’ programme, the Kölner Philharmonie invites you to an interactive introductory talk before the concert: The opportunity to get to know background stories and aspects worth knowing about selected works from the programme in advance and to get in the mood for the concert evening together.

Kosten: € 21/€ 10,-* pro teilnehmende Person inkl. Einführungsworkshop, Konzertkarte und VVK-Gebühren. Ein VRS-Ticket ist in der Konzertkarte erhalten.
