Portrait of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra: Chamber Music

As principal oboist of the renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Alexei Ogrintchouk lives and works in Amsterdam – when he is not touring as a soloist or chamber musician in high demand worldwide. As is now the case in Cologne with first-class orchestra colleagues and an appealing classical-romantic programme.

In the 2000/2001 season, Alexei Ogrintchouk was already a rising star and guest performer at the Kölner Philharmonie and many other major concert halls in Europe. In addition to his main job as principal oboist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the multi-award-winning musician is a sought-after soloist and chamber music partner, as well as an accomplished arranger who adapts works without further ado to suit his instrument, and he can also be seen increasingly often as a conductor. In Cologne, he will present the »Gassenhauertrio« – Beethoven's most beautiful light music – with esteemed colleagues.
