Hagen Quartett

The Hagen Quartet combines Viennese classical music and modern music for its farewell concert in Cologne.
The Hagen Quartett can look back on an unprecedented career and has become a role model for many young ensembles. It stands for sound quality and stylistic diversity and has made string quartet history itself.
Its official birth was in 1981, when Gidon Kremer invited a young quartet to the chamber music festival in Lockenhaus. At that time, the Hagen Quartett was at the beginning of its unique career. When the ensemble retires from the stage in 2026, an era will come to an end. Therefore, the Hagen Quartett will once again unite the two leading Viennese schools in what is likely to be its last performance in Cologne, with works by Mozart, Schubert and Anton Webern. May it never end ...
