Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks | Sir Simon Rattle

Schumann Sinfonie Nr. 2 & Strawinsky »Der Feuervogel«
The noble sound of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks always makes everything old shine in new splendour. And when the orchestra's principal conductor, Sir Simon Rattle, picks up his baton, the unheard-of sounds of yesteryear become electrifyingly audible in the present day.
Unheard of was the revolutionary rebellion that Robert Schumann inscribed in his romantic and ultimately compellingly jubilant zweiten Sinfonie (Second Symphony). And unheard of was also the magnificent palette of orchestral colours from which Igor Stravinsky created his musical painting of the fairy-tale Firebird for the legendary Ballets Russes in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. Both masterpieces are now in the very best of hands with the ever-vigilant Sir Simon and his first-class ensemble.
