SINFONIC À LA CARTE The symphony orchestra is the most dazzling, colourful and complex orchestra that music history has produced. Orchestral concerts are therefore among the highlights of any concert calendar, especially when ensembles of international calibre are invited to perform.

On our menu list you will not only find the Concertgebouworkest or the Orchestre de Paris, the SWR Symphonieorchester or the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, but also the London Symphony Orchestra and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra - there is something for every taste.

WORLD MUSIC À LA CARTE You can expect an exciting musical journey from South Africa, via the Ivory Coast and Morocco, to the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Portugal. Whether it's Abel Selaocoe, who defies genre boundaries with his cello and vocals, Oum, who has made it her mission to counter prejudice with music alone, or Dobet Gnahoré, who fascinates audiences around the world with her captivating performance, they all inspire us, and not just musically.

And of course Tomatito or Marco Mezquida, who bring flamenco in all its facets to the Kölner Philharmonie in an impressive way. Not forgetting Mariza, of course, who exports Portuguese fado to the world more impressively than almost anyone else.

CHAMBER MUSIC À LA CARTE Chamber music in a large concert hall - at first glance a contradiction in terms, but the universe of sound experiences, the large number of possible combinations, the expressive will of the soloists - all of this comes into its own in the outstanding acoustics of the Kölner Philharmonie.

And so you will find Igor Levit and Grigory Sokolov as well as Janine Jansen and Ian Bostridge on the menu of the Chamber Music Choice subscription. The varied chamber music repertoire is perfectly complemented by the two quartets Quatuor Ébène and the Alinde Quartet, which, with Iveta Apkalna on the organ, makes the hall shine in a special way and both of whom are among our portrait artists this season.
