For 2nd classes
Carnival of emotions
When over 300 primary school pupils join the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln and actors on the podium of the Kölner Philharmonie, it can only mean one thing: »Singing with class!«
In 2025, we embark on a musical journey into the wide world of emotions. Charlie is at a loss: Lou is becoming more and more withdrawn and clearly no longer feels like playing anything together. So Charlie comes up with the idea of organising a carnival of emotions to cheer them up. Which emotion makes us laugh? Which one is the most comforting? Who is the scariest? And who makes the whole body bubble over? Together, Lou and Charlie embark on a carnival-like search for the super feeling power.
Over a period of two months, the second-year classes taking part in the project will work under the guidance of vocal coaches on the work composed by Thierry Tidrow based on a libretto by Pauline Jacob, which will be performed in two concerts with the Gürzenich-Orchester Köln at the end. Comprehensive material supports the teachers in preparing and accompanying the project in their classes and invites pupils to take a closer look at the themes of the work.
